Nonton The Lost Treasure (2022) Sub Indo – The Lost Treasure begins with treasure hunter Eddie Fox (Josh Margulies, The Unhandymen, Water) having a book full of secrets that literally falls into his lap. In particular, it contains the location of the powerful spear used by the Hawaiian kings. It wasn't by chance that he received the book either, it was written by his great-uncle, whose compass Eddie used on his expeditions. Before he and his assistant Maleko (William Roehl) can figure out what to do with it, they are visited by Tanya (Stella Tinucci, Love Goes Through Your Mind) who somehow knows she has the book and wants her to find the spear before the evil Charles Wellington ( Dezmond Gilla, How to Spell Revenge, When Words Breathe). Before they can ask for more information, Wellington's henchman, Kainoa (Kava Jones) also shows up at Fox's door. I should probably mention that The Lost Treasure is a children's film before I go any further. I know I don't usually review much of what could be termed “family friendly” but it occurred to me that the next generation of action and horror fans had to start somewhere. So if there is interest I will try to review more of these films that come my way.

Download The Lost Treasure (2022) – Writer/director/star Stella Tinucci took Hawaiian mythology and mixed some concepts, if not actual scenes, from Raiders of the Lost Ark and adapted them to the film's rather low budget and intended audience. The result is much funnier than I expected. As Eddie Fox Margulies appear like several incarnations of Dr Who, clearly intelligent but disorganized and scattered at times. But it wasn't to the point where he couldn't think of a way out of a problem when he had to. He even looks like Sylvester McCoy in some scenes. Tanya Tinucci became an effective partner for him. She is cute and attractive and resourceful, not just another girl in distress. As the villain of The Lost Treasure, Dezmond Gilla manages to be so evil without being so evil that he will give little children nightmares, even as he plots the deaths of heroes.
Solid supporting cast, if underused. Roehl is good as a level-headed assistant to Fox and Jones is seen as a big, stupid bad guy. Two other characters from the film are Leilani (Terry Bookhart, Secrets in the Water, VooDoo Curse: The Giddeh) and the supernatural entity Mahina (Angelica Quinn, I Was a Simple Man, Tales of the Circle Keys) rounding out a very small cast. Tinucci also has the smarts to keep The Lost Treasure short, it runs for about an hour, not counting the credits which means it ends before the short attention span starts to wander. And before the budget constraints start to become too obvious. On the downside, The Lost Treasure sometimes plays it a little too carefully. For example, there's a scene where the characters throw coconuts at each other and it's pretty obvious that they're just throwing them gently at each other to avoid getting hurt. There's also a lack of double meaning or anything that might confuse kids but make the adults watching with them laugh. However, The Lost Treasure managed to hold my attention much better than recent drecks like Amityville in the Hood and Rucker were supposed to be made for viewers like me. If it could do that, I imagine it would tickle its target audience too.
